JPC (Joseph Patrao Construction) was a relatively straightforward project with a client who had a clear appreciation for design and trusted the creative process. The engagement began with a simple request for a logo design and pricing. From the outset, the client showed interest in exploring different creative directions, which allowed for a few initial design concepts to be developed and presented.
Early iterations of the logo explored more conventional construction branding styles, but it became clear that the client was not fully satisfied with those directions. This led to a strategic shift toward a more minimal and refined approach, focusing on simplicity, clarity, and strong symbolic meaning. The final direction incorporated a clean visual structure that included elements such as wings and eagle-inspired symbolism, combined with a subtle integration of the client’s face as part of the identity concept. This approach gave the brand a distinctive and personal character while still maintaining a professional construction industry aesthetic.
Once this revised concept was introduced, the client responded positively and approved the direction. The final logo reflected a balance between minimal design principles and meaningful symbolism, resulting in a strong and recognizable brand mark suitable for construction-related business use. The simplicity of the design also ensured versatility across different applications, from documentation to signage and digital use.
In addition to the logo, additional value was provided in the form of a free flyer design to support the client’s services, along with a monogram pattern system intended for use across their design collection. This helped extend the brand identity beyond just a logo and into a more complete visual system. Overall, the client was satisfied with the final outcome, and the project demonstrated adaptability in working with international clients while maintaining a strong focus on delivering functional, clean, and meaningful design work.
