Matandis T Kitchen was a client I personally approached after identifying clear opportunities to improve their overall visual identity and customer-facing presentation. At the time, the business did not have a formal logo, and their existing menu lacked clarity and structure, which limited how effectively they could communicate their offerings to customers. My goal in approaching them was to help refine and professionalise their brand presence from the ground up.
The project began with early discussions around the brand name and direction, followed by the presentation of the first two official logo drafts. Once the owner saw these initial concepts, they immediately connected with the design direction and approved it enthusiastically. From there, the branding process continued with the development of a professional flyer that highlighted the store’s identity and the type of food they are known for, ensuring that the visual style matched the business’s real-world personality and offering.
In addition to the design work, I also captured supporting media content using the client’s phone, creating a bonus social media video to help boost their online presence at no additional cost. This was part of a broader effort to provide value beyond the original scope of work. Due to financial constraints raised by the client, several services were offered at discounted or reduced cost, allowing the business to still access essential branding improvements without being limited by budget.
The project continued over time, with the creation of two structured menus in late December that significantly improved readability and presentation. Later, the client returned for additional work to expand their menu and create promotional flyers for specific popular items. These were developed in both static and animated formats, which were well received and appreciated for their modern presentation. Overall, Matandis T Kitchen received one of the most comprehensive sets of services, including logo design, multiple menus, flyers, and promotional media, reflecting a strong commitment to helping small businesses build a credible and attractive brand presence.
